Terms of Service
The terms for your private files, app access and optional services. Also referred to as our Terms of Use.
Effective and last updated:1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern the Cove Space app and services you choose to use. The service provider is Deepak Vijayakumaran Nair Rajeswari Amma. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to that developer.
By using Cove Space, you agree to these terms. Read them with our Privacy Policy, the terms shown before a purchase and your app store’s rules. If you do not agree, stop using the app and preserve any files you need. Stopping use does not itself cancel store billing.
You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, subject to applicable store usage rules and law. You must be legally able to use it and have any parental or guardian permission required by law. Cove Space is not directed to children under 13 or the applicable minimum age described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
Account features require a supported sign-in method, such as Google or Sign in with Apple where offered. Protect your sign-in account, device passcode and Cove Space PIN. Do not use another person’s account or attempt to access their files. Contact us promptly if you suspect misuse.
A store account and a Cove Space account serve different purposes. Use the correct accounts for purchases and restoration. A purchase, a recovered key and a copy of an encrypted file are separate things; obtaining one does not automatically provide the others.
3. Local and optional Cloud storage
Local: selected files are encrypted and stored on your device. Adding them locally does not automatically upload them to Cloud. Device loss, app-data removal, damage or loss of a required key may make them inaccessible. Keep appropriate independent copies.
Cloud, when enabled: a separate paid service stores encrypted Cove Space files. It does not automatically back up your photo library, entire device or every local vault file. Uploads, moves and Sync are actions you choose. Account login and Cove Key setup alone do not upload media.
Private yearly or lifetime access does not include Cloud capacity. You do not have to purchase Cloud to use the available local-vault access options.
4. PIN, Cove Key and recovery
Your device PIN unlocks access on that device. It is not your encryption key, sign-in password or Recovery Code. Encryption and device protections reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security.
New recovery system, when enabled
A Cove Key protects the keys needed to open your encrypted files. Setup requires saving and confirming a Recovery Code before activation. Keep it safely outside Cove Space, separate from the device you may need to recover. Restore requires account sign-in, the code and security verification. Recovering a key does not recreate media; you also need an actual copy of the encrypted files.
Recovery is server-assisted. The backend retains the encrypted Cove Key and separately protected, recoverable Recovery Code material for the supported recovery process. We handle it under security controls and applicable legal obligations. A support email alone does not authorize key release, and recovery cannot be promised in every situation. Relevant Cloud and recovery privacy disclosures will accompany general availability.
Reset and previous-key files
A replacement Cove Key cannot decrypt files protected by an earlier key. Reset does not itself delete media or start Cloud Quarantine. Another device may still hold an earlier key; reset does not remotely erase or revoke it.
Previous-key associations are preserved, but historical-key recovery is not currently offered. Sync may download previous-key encrypted files and show them as locked. They still use Cloud and device storage; the current key cannot open them. Do not reset a key expecting it to unlock old files.
Never email support a PIN, Recovery Code, encryption key or private media.
5. Access options and plans
The store purchase screen and receipt govern the amount charged. They show your local price, currency, billing period and applicable taxes before confirmation. These U.S. reference prices do not promise an identical conversion or local price.
Private access
Lifetime means Private access for the lifetime of the Cove Space product, subject to store availability, supported devices and mandatory legal rights. It does not include Cloud capacity or promise that every future service, platform or feature will remain available indefinitely.
Yearly Cloud plans — limited testing
| Cloud allowance | Price per year |
|---|---|
| 500 MB | US$30 |
| 1 GB | US$60 |
| 2.5 GB | US$150 |
| 5 GB | US$300 |
| 10 GB | US$600 |
Cloud plans renew yearly when offered. Capacity uses binary units: the 500 MB plan provides 524,288,000 bytes and 1 GB provides 1,073,741,824 bytes; larger allowances scale accordingly. Encryption overhead consumes storage.
Ad-free benefit in the Cloud-enabled release
In releases offering the combined benefit, any verified active Private or Cloud subscription, or a valid Private lifetime purchase, provides ad-free app access. An eligible, verified store grace period is recognized. Cancellation normally preserves access until the verified paid period ends. Pending, expired, refunded or invalid purchases do not grant the benefit; another valid entitlement may still do so.
Paid access does not remove PIN, key, ownership or Cloud quota checks. Existing Private purchases remain separate; a lifetime purchase is not converted into a subscription.
6. Billing, cancellation, refunds and restoration
Apple App Store or Google Play processes purchases and charges your store account when you confirm. Yearly subscriptions renew for another year unless cancelled under that store’s rules. Renewal prices, notices and required consent follow the store and applicable law. No trial or promotional price is promised unless explicitly offered.
Manage or cancel
Cancel before the renewal deadline shown by your store to avoid the next charge. Cancellation normally leaves access until the verified paid period ends, unless a refund, revocation or other store decision changes it. Uninstalling, signing out or deleting a Cove Space account does not cancel store billing.

Plan changes and payment issues
The store determines an upgrade or downgrade’s effective date and billing adjustment. A scheduled change is not a completed change. Cove Space applies verified entitlement, expiry and any grace, retry or hold state. Pending purchases and temporary verification problems do not establish new paid access. Changing platforms does not automatically transfer or merge purchases; contact support before buying a duplicate.
Refunds and restoration
Refund eligibility depends on store policies, circumstances and applicable law. Request an Apple refund, consult Google Play refund guidance, or contact us for purchase assistance. Statutory refund and consumer rights remain unaffected.
Use Restore purchases with the original store account and appropriate Cove Space account. Restoration requires verified ownership and entitlement. It does not recreate deleted files, supply missing keys or give Private-only purchases Cloud capacity.
7. Cloud quotas and 30-day Quarantine
This section applies only to enabled Cloud storage. Encrypted file sizes count toward usage, including previous-key files. Upload reservations count when deciding whether a transfer fits. Encryption overhead may make the stored file larger than the original media.
Exceeding an allowance blocks new uploads or moves into Cloud. It does not by itself block local access, Cloud downloads, deletion or choosing a larger plan. Downloads require device space and the appropriate key to open the files.
When an allowance decreases
After a verified downgrade or expiry takes effect, following any applicable store grace period, only the calculated excess enters Quarantine: temporary retention outside your active allowance. A refund or revocation may reduce the allowance to zero. Pending changes or temporary verification outages do not justify an early deadline.
Retention lasts 30 days from the relevant effective event, not from your next app launch. The app shows each affected file or group’s exact deadline. Groups can have different deadlines. Reopening the app, retries and keep-selection changes do not restart a deadline.
Before the deadline, download or move retained files to your device, delete them, or obtain enough verified capacity to restore eligible files to active storage. Keep selections are considered first; otherwise newer files are favoured, and only whole files that fit are selected.
The service may permanently delete affected Cloud files after their displayed deadline. A late upgrade cannot guarantee recovery. A delayed cleanup is not extra retention time. Download and verify needed copies before the deadline. Explicit file deletion and account deletion are separate actions with no new 30-day retention promise.
8. Transfers, Sync and copies
Sync is manual: open Cloud and choose Sync. It downloads encrypted files without automatically deleting Cloud originals. Downloads consume device storage and require the correct key to open. Key restoration alone never downloads your library.
A move verifies the destination copy before deleting its source. Check interrupted or partially completed transfers; unfinished files may remain at the source. Preserve independent copies until you have verified the destination and can open the files you need.
After gallery import, keeping or deleting originals in Photos or Gallery is your choice, subject to operating-system confirmation. Sharing or exporting may create decrypted copies outside Cove Space. Manage those copies, other-device copies and third-party backups separately.
9. Your files and permitted use
You retain ownership of your files and are responsible for having the right to store, use and share them. You authorize processing needed for requested features, service security and applicable legal obligations, as described in the Privacy Policy. Ownership does not transfer to us.
Do not use Cove Space for illegal content or activity, infringement, exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, threats or abuse. Do not distribute malware, disrupt the service, impersonate users, circumvent purchase or security checks, or attempt to access another account’s files. Restrictions on reverse engineering or modification apply only to the extent allowed by law and relevant open-source licences.
10. Privacy and service providers
Our Privacy Policy explains personal-information processing and your choices. Supported versions use Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple for identity; Google Analytics for Firebase and Crashlytics for analytics and reliability; AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform for ads and consent; and Apple or Google for billing and relevant device services.
When enabled, Cloud and recovery use Cloudflare’s backend and encrypted-file storage. Amazon SES supplies transactional service email where enabled; Zoho Mail handles support. Providers have their own applicable terms and privacy practices. Account-service emails do not contain your Recovery Code, PIN, encryption keys or private media.
11. Account and service deletion
Choose Delete account in the app’s account controls, reauthenticate and confirm. If you cannot use the app, follow our external deletion-request page. We verify ownership before an external request is completed.
Deletion can remove the account’s local vault, PIN and key material on the device performing it. In versions with Cloud and recovery enabled, deletion also requests removal of associated Cloud files and recovery records. Preserve needed files first; deletion can be irreversible. Limited records may remain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or dispute resolution as described in the Privacy Policy.
Deletion does not erase your Google or Apple account, shared or exported copies, or copies on other devices. Manage store subscription renewal separately.
12. Availability and changes
Features depend on the app version, supported device, operating system, network, store and required security verification. We cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. A verification failure may temporarily prevent setup, recovery or Cloud operations without meaning your device is compromised.
We may change or suspend features for security, compatibility, abuse prevention, legal obligations or service operation. For a material reduction or discontinuation of a paid service, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to retrieve affected files where practicable, together with legally required remedies. Urgent security or legal circumstances may require earlier action.
Revised terms show an updated effective date. We will communicate material changes and obtain consent where required by law. Changes do not remove protected consumer rights.
13. Store terms and your rights
Applicable Apple App Store or Google Play terms also govern downloads and purchases. For Apple-distributed apps, the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies where applicable. Apple and Google do not operate Cove Space support or Cloud services.
The app and services are provided as available, with the limitations explained here and to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights, statutory warranties, remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
